History

In 2010, Hawaii’s Entertainment had noticed a rapid decline in live island music. As huge supporters of anything & everything local, Hawaii’s Finest Clothing Company not only recognized this but also dedicated their many efforts to restoring our islands’ mele. By late 2012, they were able to launch the Revive the Live Campaign in an effort to bring live island music back to the forefront of Hawaii’s Entertainment.

In 2014, after years of careful planning, they were able to kick off the very first Revive the Live Music Festival (RTLMF) located at Hawaii’s most iconic stage – the Waikiki Shell. Because of its success & positive feedback, the 2nd Annual Revive the Live Music Festival sold out with a crowd of over 8k people. By 2016, Hawaii’s Finest was able to expand their annual music festival to three nights; adding a 2nd night of local island music & dedicating a 3rd night to our Traditional Hawaiian & Contemporary Music attracting an audience of more than 15k people. And as you could imagine, it did not stop there. In 2020, we held a three-day festival that included Island Reggae Music artists of the past & present; bringing in over 16k people from all over the world.

RTLMF’s focus is to celebrate & perpetuate the revival of live Island Reggae Music in Hawaii. This year, Hawaii’s Finest is excited to announce that they will be moving their festival to the Great Lawn of Bishop Museum. This allows for tons of parking, various food vendors, arts & crafts, a Keiki corner w/bouncing castles & games plus a huge beer garden with your favorite drinks. With two nights of live Island Reggae Music & 2 stages, audience members will be able to witness legends like Ekolu, Maoli, Norm, Pati, Koaʻuka, Ten Feet, Opihi Pickers, Baba B, Kapena, Manaʻo Company, Bruddah Waltah, Sudden Rush, PeniDean, B.E.T., and much more!

The Revive the Live Music Festival is by far the largest music festival Hawaiʻi has to offer & you definitely don’t want to miss it. Bring your ʻOhana & enjoy live local music from the minute the gates open to the very last Hana Hou. Thank you for supporting local music and helping us, REVIVE THE LIVE!
